If the mount goes on the chart holder, where do you write down your clearances?
I can't pinpoint a good spot now to leave scratch paper for taxi clearances, route amendments, holding instructions etc. |

What are guys typically using for a kneeboard? I've been wanting to get my Sporty's Flightgear kneeboard out again... Also, how well will the crew meal tray fit on said kneeboard?
|
I have the sporty's trifold kneeboard. I bought it when I started flying in my 135 gig. A Delta captain on the 777 told me that was pretty much the standard in the 121 world. I would recommend it. The side pockets are useful for stowing extra VFR sectionals.

I have never once seen a 121 guy with a kneeboard

7 years of flying 121 and I've NEVER seen a pilot use a kneeboard. Feel free if you want to, I'd expect some funny looks though

What's a guy have to do to get noticed by Compass? I have received invites by just about everyone else but honestly, just interested in Compass since I live on the W. Coast. And, isn't QOL what we all say is the priority? I'm 1 1/2 from LAX and could sit on reserve until whenever if I had to until my turn. And I notice that candidates with both less and more experience are getting picked up. Without beating up an old man too bad, what's the secret? Thanks in advance.

Go to a job fair and meet them in person. There is a chief pilot there, and one or two of the interview pilots. Are you current? Do you know anyone at Compass? I believe they will be at the next job fair April 23 - LAS - Go to it.

2) do you have a 4 year degree? 3) Is your criminal history clear over the past 10 years? 4) is all your info up to date on your application? Such as a your medical, passport, etc all having the correct date and year input on file. You would be surprised how many people have the wrong year listed. A problem with number 3 or 4 could easily disqualify you. Having a check ride failure or no degree by itself will not disqualify you, however both will. |

Pilots can even turn a female-centric event into a sausage fest.

If/WHEN Seattle opens up as a crew base do you guys think it will go senior or junior?

Then again Junior/senior is relative depending on where you sit on the seniority list. I'm sure if you live in or near Seattle you are most likely LAX based already. |

A new hire FO today will be moving up the list about 6-7% every month.

Lots of Denver captains will probably go there since we'll be doing that route in a couple of months. A handful of PNW commuters and people that will just move there vs. continuing to live in socal. I bet not as senior as MSP, but way more than LAX.
|
I'll be one of the ones moving there.

Looks like the 717 is going to be doing flying out of Seattle.

Has anyone stayed at the Courtyard Marriott next to the training center in MSP. I noticed it doesn't come with breakfast. Does anyone know if its possible to sweet talk the front desk personal into getting it for free? Staying there for training and this would save a decent amount of money.

I've been hearing the Compass hiring pool is drying up fast and we still need plenty of guys this year. I hope TSH can come to their senses and at least start offering hotel/per diem and guarantee pay day 1 for new hires |

You sure all your sims are in MSP? A lot of new hires are now going to STL or DFW now for sim training which is helping them out with a hotel and per diem. But I suppose you would still need the hotel in MSP during ground school and IPT training...

Compass just announced KSEA as a crew base for delta connection flying.
