For what its worth, were told in 9mth over the summer that Compass was trying to get approval to use the sims in St. Louis and Brazil for recurrent training to free up MSP sims for new hires and upgrades. This was in anticipation of flows last year. Not sure that I believe it but thats what was said.

This rumor is rampant around those I know at legacy AE. I also had the NYC cheif pilot on the jumpseat here at 9E to PHL and he said expect announcement soon that the NYC base will be shrinking for another carrier to do AMR flying. Republic already got a bunch of flying for ORD...who else is left with an active and cheap 175 program? I think the rumor has enough merit to try and jump into the pool at Compass since Im very junior at 9E and NYC based. If it pans out movement between flows and AE flying will clear the list in a couple years. Id also expect that if Compass is awarded NYC flying the planes wouldn't arrive all at once so training could better keep up with demand.

Compass Pilot Pool Update;
Hello Everyone. This is another update for those of you awaiting a class slot here at Compass. Since our last update in December, we've run a series of new-hire classes. As of now, 25 pilots have been called from the pool in seniority order. Of those 25 pilots, 18 were placed into new-hire classes. We are currently in the process of evaluating our 2013 staffing needs based on projected attrition, airline growth, and retirements. Many of these metrics-as many of you already know-are very difficult to forecast due to the fickle nature of our industry.
I know those of you awaiting a class probably wanted to hear about more class slots, unfortunately, we are not anticipating anymore new-hire classes for the remainder of the first quarter of 2013. However with many of the mainline carriers spooling up their hiring for the year, it would be reasonable to assume that regionals will see an uptick in attrition, which should lead to more class slots. Until then, we appreciate your patience and urge you to maintain your current position and lifestyle until class dates are confirmed.
Barring any changes to our current hiring plan, our next update is planned for mid April. Until then, take care, and don't hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.
Thank you,
JD Olson

Since Trans States Holdings is a private company, I've had no luck looking up the ASA they signed with Delta when they were sold. Does anyone know when their ASA is up for renewal with Delta?
