Has anyone heard anything about new hire class dates beyond August 7th? Still curious to hear something about the plan for those of us in the pool....

Didn't see this coming. Make sense if TSH wants to compete with SkyWest and Republic. What about the MJet? |

My guess is that they're setting up to fly FFD for ME carriers, but that's just a WAG. |

The E175-E2 model in the 80-seat range is the smallest in the E-Jet Second Generation family. The E175-E2 was extended by one seat row, compared to the current generation E-175, will seat up to 88 passengers, and is scheduled for first delivery in 2020. |
Just curious if any folks that are LAX based are currently living in the Southern California area, and if so, what are your drive times like to work? Trying to figure out if the drive from SD is doable. I know I won't be able to stand reserve from home, but just curious how bad the drive is towards LA.

EDIT: From what I've heard, the drive times in/out of traffic are similar for the Redondo Beach area. |

People in OC leave 1.5-2hrs prior to show. |

I live in LGB. It's about 25 min without traffic from house to lot. Then another 10-15 from lot to gate. If there's heavy traffic plan to leave about 1hr 30min early. Usually I leave about an hour prior to show 9/10.

Yeah if your parents live there and you can stay with them. South central LA might be more suitable for 1st year regional pay. Or throwing up a tent under the 405

Ha! Do they still have the RV lot at LAX? |
Word on the street is that efbs will be starting trials in the next few months with LIDO charts and iPad Air.

would be awesome if they could announce the sept class dates

Is CPZ using ship Jepps now or individual flight kits?

Also, while I was also in the pool for an entire YEAR, I get how frustrating it can be waiting for a call for a class date. Once the calls started going out I was able to email the recruiting team and ask about how long I could anticipate sitting in the pool. They were quick to get back to me so I could start planning. Maybe you could do that to get an idea of what the plan is. With that said, they're still finalizing the long term plan so you may not get a ton of info this instant. But it's worth a try.
They have not given us the official start dates yet for the classes for September and going forward. So based on what you are saying the whole 10 a week in September isn't happening? |

The september class date in the vacancy was for an UPGRADE class, not new hires. The vacancies for increased new hires will follow, probably later on in august or early september, right around when you will start anyway. I realize its hard to wait, and there are many of us who had to wait over a year like alaskabound said. The plan is being finalized, and believe me, if its anything like last year (and it will be) once they know, the floodgates will open and the pool will empty practically overnight. 10/week is going to happen, I would expect to hear something in the next 2-3 weeks once they finalize the training plan and sim schedule for the next 12-16 months. |

The vacancy that was posted today was for pilots hitting the line in october. The new hires that are included in that vacancy are already on property since it takes about 3 months from the start of home study till you can be considered eligible to bid for that month.

There is also nothing in the alignment about a new hire class date. In fact new hire class dates aren't sent to the entire pilot group in any mass communication format. The training center may or may not give you an update when you're in the school house for recurrent, but to say that realignment or vacancy bids have any new hire class dates is flat out wrong. In fact even trying to predict class dates based on position bids is flat out wrong because nobody bids until they've actually been hired, so please try and keep the information accurate. It's frustrating enough to be treading water. Getting wrong information just makes it worse, but fortunately things are moving and good things will come to those that wait. |

Be careful about what information you put out there. Although the vacancy indicates 8 new hire positions, they're most definitely for people already on property and people that will be done with IOE by September.

How does transportation to training work. Remember reading something about having to find your own way to MN. But can't find it.

For first day orientation, you buy a ticket. But don't buy a return ticket because you'll have delta travel privs by the end of that day and probably your ID badge too, so you can jumpseat home and list standby to all future training events. You are also responsible for your hotel and getting to/from the schoolhouse during the remainder of training.

Nope, travel benefits day 1, and as long as you aren't listed in CASS with another airline, jumpseat privilidges too.
