To get from delta terminal 5 to AA terminal you have to walk through a tunnel under the terminal to 6 then a bus to 4, followed by another bus to the Eagles nest. Might be shorter to go out of security then walk to 4 and back into security with a bus to the nest. I can't remember when eagle shut down their lax base but I assume they shut it down because of performance. So many questions in my head if it's lax for AA. Competition with delta and alaska, short hops around CA, long routs feeding into dfw, lax only makes sense because we are already in lax and have mx and such.

Why are you saying "if"...? It sounds like it's a done deal...

Look at the AA routes out of LAX vs. DL routes - different places.

I don't think anything is a done deal 6 months out.

More like nothing is announced more than 6 months out.

LAX is it. 100%

Doubt you will "intermix" trips. SkyWest use to do this but Delta got upset when a flights went put late do to a late crew from a UA flight.. Now no more intermix trips...( unless your on reserve;)

I haven't had the time to do the route lookup you guys are talking about. What are you thinking AA has planned out of LAX for CPZ? They already announced several Mesa routes on the 900. American Airlines to beef up its Los Angeles schedule a bit this fall | Dallas Morning News

I doubt all 20 planes will be Out of LAX. I think they just got a taste of the schedules as of yet.

Dude they have had a taste for awhile. You really think they haven't?

Being that nothing is loaded out for sale for that flying yet, this discussion is all moot. Once you see something selling on aa.com, that's when you have enough information to speculate. Plenty of time for AA to change strategy before we take delivery. Just look at the shift of CPZ in the DL system over time.

UPTme: We (actual CPZ pilots) have done an excellent job of keeping less snark and attitude in this thread than those you will see for other carriers in the regional forum. Appreciate it if we could keep it that way.

After that, if MSP stays the size that it is right now, I would guess that you could get MSP-based effective sometime around January or Feb. Considering all the hiring that will be taking place between September and that time, you probably won't have to spend more than 4-5 months total in LAX. That is just a guess though.

As for the AA CPZ base, MW did say LAX, but who knows really? That might be what MW heard is most likely, but I'm not sure that the final decision has even been made yet.

Thanks Typical41... Interesting screen name.. ; ) now that LAX has been announced for AA flying my time well spent at LAX might be longer than we thought. Anybody up for going in on a condo? I think we're going to be there for a while.

No, "dude", I don't think they have.

I actually think they only found out in the past couple weeks.

MrMustache 08-08-2014 01:21 PM

Well you guys can keep thinking that... Doesn't matter to me.

Training Day 1

After your first day of training, you are in CASS and can jumpseat home. Is your pass travel also registered in Delta Net? Or is there a waiting period for you, parents, wife, and kids?
Thanks!

Thanks!

You get put in CASS on your first day assuming your previous carrier has taken you out (you cannot be in CASS for two different airlines at the same time). You will get pass travel on your first day as long as you pay the $50 activation fee.

Yes. You will be required to provide supporting documents for your domestic partner later.

Maybe it has changed but this wasn't the case a year ago, you had to provide holdings with documentation that your parents were indeed your parents via a birth certificate. It took about 3-7 days for it to go through and show up on dlnet

I didn't have to provide proof of my parents at all. I wonder how they determine that. Went through initial exactly a year ago.

You prob went through ADP and listed, we got a memo saying not to do that until you were approved

Does Compass have a 5-year policy against hiring someone with a wreckless driving conviction (class B misdemeanor)? Currently working on the Canadian waiver required to get into Canada and don't want it to be all for nothing. Thanks in advance.

We did it the first day of class all together. There was an "approval" period but no supporting documentation was required before the approval. Not sure why you had to provide any proof of parents.

Domestic Partners definitely require proof and there was an approval period for that after supporting documentation was provided.

I have no idea, but they serve quite a few cities in Canada, so I think getting the waiver would help your chances.

Class B misdemeanor aka DUI you got out of.

Yep...made the terrible mistake and got caught at a checkpoint. Didn't technically "get out" of it as I just plead down. Not afraid to admit it and not afraid to admit that it was the worst decision Ive made in my life. Only good thing out of it was that it happened early in my life/career and I know I wont be making that same mistake again. Was straightforward with the recruiters and they said without the Canadian TRP it would be a 0% chance, but also mentioned some felonies/misdemeanors are a disqualifier for 5 years.

I have sent in the paperwork for the Canadian waiver just looking for some insight if any people knew the answer to this since the recruiters did not.

LA was the best performing base for Eagle before they closed it. Not trying to insult you, but try to hold back your assumptions if you can about other carriers performance numbers.

Uhhh... Really? Who cares if it was or wasn't.

What color pants does CPZ have for their uniform? I'm debating about buying a third pair for my current airline. I'd like to be able to use it at CPZ too.

Does anyone know how many pilots on property are still flow eligible as of the most recent bid period?
