Yeah I don't like that it's expected, but if they are helpful with the bags, friendly, drive safe, and on time, they get a tip.

If they drive like some of the SFO or SJC contract drivers where your worried for your life then there's a very high probability they will not be receiving a tip. With that said I don't expect flight attendants to tip or even F.O.s because I know that it can get very tight financially but I think its not very classy if not one person in the whole crew tips so as captain they've got to work pretty hard not to get a tip from me.

Well, to tip the conversation back to tipping, here's my policy: if the van is there ready and waiting by the time I get there? Tip is definitely coming. If the van driver drives fast and efficiently without making me feel like I'm about to die? Tip.
If the van driver is angry to be there or yells at myself or my crew (it's rare, but happened), no tip for you! Same if the van driver makes me more nervous than flying with a FO fresh off IOE trying to do the dreaded night visual into SJC, then it's no tip as well. Otherwise, I try to be generous and tip the van drivers. I also try to be generous with my crew, too, though. Especially the FAs.
Tl:dr. If the van driver is not a jerk, tip. Otherwise...

Getting a contract with Southwest (heard we will be flying Air Tran's old 717s once DL get their C-series), should be an announcement soon about FOs being paid CA pay, union finished getting through every single grievance, and finally IOCC will work flawlessly starting Feb '18 and be better than FLICA.
Double wave friend.

Ohhhh this is good! Quality rumor sir! Funny part is, all of it is more likely and believable than the last statement

Please, allow me to change gears on this tipping thing for a sec. I went to work, to do the job I am paid to do, and I just landed a 70,000 pound jet aircraft with 76 people on board, in ****-poor weather, at night, on an ice covered RWY, where is my tip? END.
