Had to share this. On a deadhead and hear the dude behind me “Yeah haha I just looked at the board and decided to go to LA. I was supposed to go to Jackson! I work for SkyWest so, yeah, just trying to use those travel BENNIES” literally said bennies and is advertising to pax that he’s there for free

Also CS just pulled this on me:
“ hey want a 2 day trip tomorrow? We have two options for you out of LA or SEA. Which would you like?”

“Uhh how’s the credi—- wait the second day is my day off.”

“We can offer critical pay for the LAX trip.”

“No that’s my day off...”

“Hold on (...)Ok critical pay for either trip”

“No”

“Ok well we have a 1 day for you then”

With a 10 hour landing-to-Show time layover in LA....

They better “pull some more levers” in recruiting or this will be our new way of life at CPZ

Like. I'd love for them to call me to JM me. I'd make sure they could hear the beer can being opened as I talk to them. In regards to flying the contract, I really wish people would continue to educate new hires as they come on property. I still fly with many 1 year guys/gals who think after we land the company can get them for up to 15 minutes. People... we're not even required to have a phone once on a reserve assignment or a line assignment. If they get you via ACARS or with a company representative at the plane, that's the only way they can get you. We have to follow the contract, make them as well.
