Unless there's some sort of language written into whatever agreement we end up getting that forces them to take a certain number of us, I definitely wouldn't equate a "guaranteed interview" with a "job offer that is yours to lose."
If the rumor that this agreement is coming is even true, I would guess something to that effect exists but I guess we'll have to see. |

Even if you get a guaranteed. It will be no cake walk. You will still have to meet the standards as a non guaranteed interviewee.
With the hiring that is going on I'd just apply and keep updating. You'll get a call eventually. |

That's the thing though...."the hiring that is going on" has yet to reach a critical stage. Their pool is full, and is a few years from drying up. They are by no means desperate, and that is why so many people with awesome qualifications are still not getting a call. The big 3 can still afford to be super picky, giving priority to MIL folks before us regional scum :)
