Quote: The difference here is if TSH had a flight school, they’d try to sell it for quick cash, all while wondering how they going to staff their airlines. Must be nice working for a proactive company.
If by being proactive you mean a company that is going outside of the CBA and is doing so all on the financial backs of its work force, it feels great...

Quote: lol. I flew with this dude about a year ago. He was fresh off IOE on a build up line. When we flew the next month's schedule had just came out. He spent the entire trip griping about being on reserve. An exact quote "bro, how am I supposed to see my girlfriend with this schedule?".

Yeah,I don't he's still here.

Good morning yall, Bobby "snow cone" Swagger here, slow news day again.

Thinkin about B's latest crib email, LAX-LAS-LAX, EASSSYYY money?

Us line grunts know in the summer, anything and everything can go wrong on that turn lol. Post your WORST vegas turn stories below.

Ill go first. I was a FO, had a long unnecessary mx delay due to a return to gate that should never of happened, CA though temp probes were overheating. To his defense, I didn't remember they are only readable in flight, and mxc had is return to gate to look at it, so it was buffoonery all across the board. We blocked out 2 hrs late to Vegas finally. Right before the approach check DX had us turn around and go back to lax because it had just reached ISA+36. I have rarely seen since such an array of livid pax. There was a small flash mob formed and I tried to duck past them on my way out, one lady looked at me and said "hey!! What are we supposed to do now?!?!?" I said.. "um... um... wait till it cools down??" She rolled her eyes as others started approaching. I walked away quickly and didn't look back.

You can keep the CRIB PAY B!

I heard delta has an opening for the jfk run?
Sometimes I just want to poke this thread with a stick and say “give me hope about some positive rumor”
Oh Mr Swag thank you for the story prompt!

Back in the day when I was a naive FO, fairly new to CPZ, I picked up a Monterrey overnight with a LAS turn. 2 days of crib pay to help me get on that good airline life everyone imagines we live. Thought I would be done around 1400 on day 2 in lax also.

So we roll into Vegas and summer time heat is in full force and we have been gifted a plane with no APU. It was only fitting.
Board up the passengers, get the start cart connected, reference the chart to see how much PSI we need, and start cart is giving us 5psi below what we need. MXC says “no way”
For attempting a start with that low of PSI. Ops in Vegas says “that’s our last working start cart, do you have any other way to try and start it up?”.

So off with the passengers because they are literally starting to vaporize in the back of the plane now.

One hour later ops gets a cart from Swissport. Captain says let’s see how much psi it gives before we board the pax again. (Good idea I think!). Fire up the cart, it overheats and shuts down.
Gate agent comes down with two big Quiznos subs. From a passenger who overheard say our last meal was breakfast in Mexico. Wow some of them have souls! So we chow down, and ops looks for another start cart.
“2 hours later” (sponge bob narrator voice). We find one that they paid Southwest to let us borrow.
We test it out, works like a dream. Board the pax and head out to LaLa Land.
Once we arrive in LAX I return to my jetbridge from postflight walkaround to find the flight attendant arguing with a passenger who was trying to steal another passenger’s wheel chair. Her excuse was “I have a wheel chair just like this at home so I’m taking it!”
After some attempts at descalating the wheelchair thief threw her bag at the empty wheelchair and pushed the wheelchair agent. This prompted a call to police to wrap up my crib pay day.
Vegas baby!
Crib pay plus a TMAAT story all in one trip!
