I was wondering for CAE, FSI instructors, etc. How do you apply for pilot positions?
Specifically, most applications want to know how many hours you've flown lately, etc. If you're a sim instructor, wouldn't the answer be 0? Therefore, you'd be rejected?
Just curious.

Many sim instructors have established good (professional) relationships with operators. Many Sim IP's fly on the side to maintain currency. Some fly or own small G/A aircraft. There's lots of ways to stay marketable...

This. Many sim instructors who have a current medical, fly contract on the side and that's how most end up getting into their next gig.
