Flight Safety International Instructor Job
Hey everyone,
Looking to see if anyone has some helpful gouge on being a FSI instructor.....specifically the DFW location. I've been a sim instructor for a 121 airline before and have instructed in FSI, AFG, and CAE sim centers but never worked for them. I lost my medical (hopefully not permanently) and with 2 todlers looking at instructing again. Main questions are 1. how pay works 2. how schedules work (ie: if I live in Houston can I bunch up my work days, pull doubles, and commute) 3. how one can work their way into different types and 4. How the path is for advancement into managing roles.
I'm already typed in the E170 which they have at DFW but for future prospects, a Falcon, Gulfstream, or even A320 instructing job is quite attractive. Just currious if anyone knows the process of type assignments/requests (obviously customer needs....but if there is need all over would I still only be offered the E170?) Along these lines I believe the reg says you have to be typed to teach, so I assume they give you a type in what you'll teach if you don't have one? How does that process go?
Also it shows typical pay around $90,000......seems really low. Is it straight salary or by the hour and are their ways to increase that number early on?
Lastly if anyone has an recent interview gouge that'd be appreciated as well. Having not applied for this type of job before, not sure how it compares to the typical airline interview.
Thanks in advance!
