Assuming the C560 is like most, I wonder what the EGWS was doing, it should have be screaming at the crew. The terrain should have "poped-up" and been displayed on the MFD unless it was locked out. ?? Tragic loss....it goes to show you that even with all the glass it is still CFIT that kills in most biz jet crashes.

Not just Biz jets, CFIT is the #1 cause of all commercial operates aircraft hull losses. Not sure what the EGPWS was doing either, with the gear down in some cases it is inhibited.

I bet the EGPWS was working fine... They prob just hit the "shut up" button, and continued the approach...Fat, and happy...

it was caused by ice accretion on the tail leading to tail stall.
