Default Daily Pilot Rates

I am currently flying for another entity, but was approached by the owner of a PC12 asking me to give a daily rate for flying. While, I plan to hang on to my current job (salaried), I was wondering what a competitive day rate would be. I don't want to price myself out of a job, but I would like to pick up some cash on the side. Any suggestions?

A quick search shows 400-500 per day domestic.

400-500 a Day is a fair rate.

Whatever you do, do not settle for less than 400.

Also, you may consider letting your current employer know that you are moonlighting. Some employers have different viewpoints about flying on the side.

Agree 100% with the previous 2 posts. No less than $400 plus expenses. What are you currently flying?

Yes, agreed. $400-500 per day is a very reasonable request.

THREAD REVIVAL....

Does anyone have current info on daily contract rates for Caravan, King Air 200 and King Air 350 flying? Just starting to dip my toe into the world of contract flying.

In 2010 we were paying $450/day for BE200 or C90 and $250/day for a safety pilot in the right seat if needed for Domestic/BHS plus expenses. As a PIC I think that a minimum would be 400 for a non type required airplane.

Check insurance requirements as well, especially for a non-type required aircraft. Sucks when something unexpected happens and the insurance company decides to subrogate against the "independent contractor" not covered by the company policy.
