Hi. I'm wondering what it is like working at Sky Limo Air Charter. They posted a job opportunity for Co-Pilot/Flight Controller online. Anybody that has any info on the company and if this would be a good opportunity for a pilot with less than 135 PIC mins?

I had an interview scheduled with them this week for the Co-pilot/Flight Controller position. What it boils down to is this. Your primary job would be a Flight Controller (Dispatcher) Under 135, you don't have to be licensed to dispatch. You probably wont even touch an airplane for about 3 months. After that they will check you out in the King Air, and use you when necessary, i.e. broken autopilots, passengers insurance requirements, etc. You could expect to get about 10-15 hours a month flying. Bottom line is, if you just need a job and want to get your foot in the door to fly this is a pretty good deal. They are offering a salary and benefits. If you are looking to fly a lot and don't want to spend time behind a desk you probably won't enjoy it. Just my 2c. Good luck to anyone who applies.

I guess the big question is how much of that time will be loggable. My understanding is if the autopilot is not working it would be loggable, but a customers insurance would not make it loggable time.

As long as you have a Part 135 SIC checkride it is legal and you can log it. This is not predicated on the autopilot.
Also you can do a search about this subject, because it has been discussed to death.

Try Bimini Island air in FLL. I think that they may even have a 1900. There is also IBC in Miami and FLL.

Default Stay away

I spent two years with Sky Limo. I started out as a Navajo pilot and worked my way up through tthe Caravan , the King Air and eventually the Beechjet. I resigned on January 4th 2010. It was a great place for me to begin my career and gain valuable experience. The problem was this, the D.O. Jim Dent is someone I couldn't trust. He would hold your job over your head and treat everyone as though they were just lucky to have a job. He would basically throw it into everyones faces that he would receive "x" amount of resumes everyday and we better be on our best behavior. It was after a colleague had a maintenance situation that required the downing of an aircraft and the D.O. JIM acted as if the PIC was lying about the entire thing, that is when I decided it was time to go. I will leave my comments at that but I will say this...it is a rapidly growing company but it is built on a huge deck of cards. PROCEED WITH CAUTION..THE FAA IS EYEBALLING THIS PLACE VERY HARD!!!

A bigger question is whether that King Air has a cockpit voice recorder (CVR) required when 2 pilots are the minimum flight crew, there are six or more passenger seats and turbine powered. I bet it doesn't.
