This guy said he was at some FBO drinking coffee, waiting for his passengers, he opened the plane-trader magazine, and there it is, his tail number up for sale... he called his boss, and his boss confirmed the airplane was for sale. His boss said " I didn't have the nerve to tell you".. He thought about taking the landmark van over to the LAX terminal, and just go home, but he didn't want to leave his passengers hanging, they're actually "good people"... two weeks later the plane sold, he lost his job.
What would you guys do????
What would you guys do????
Besides you may get a week or two of pay checks until the plane sells.
always be the better person.
I keep waiting to this very thing to happen to me.

This sounds similar to what happened to me. I was waiting at home to get info on our weekly trip with a famous, country music star who was on tour. I kept getting yanked around by the dispatcher on the departure time. He finally said "we sold the plane, we'll call you when we need you." That was 4 years ago, and I haven't flown since. I had just taken a 135 check ride in the plane 2 weeks before! I kind of feel like I was on the leading edge of all the current layoffs. Hopefully, me not finding a flying job for 4 years isn't foreshadowing the future of aviation. I just saw an article about how more planes are being parked in the desert now than after 9/11.

Yea, I just got my medical updated a couple of weeks ago, and I am about to start flying again to get IFR current. I am at my "fall back job" and didn't expect to be here this long. You blink, and 4 years go by.
