Default Contract flying - making connections

I am current and typed CE-500. My job and the amount of use is going to be decreased compared to what they first said. How can I find more work? Is findapilot and 350 really worth it? I am in the NW if anyone has any info. Can someone PM with some recommendations. Thanks.

When I grow up, I'm going to start a website called FatCow, charge $25 for the year and spend my time making up bogus job offers while watching the dollars roll in. Yes, I believe it's that worthless. IMHO, and this is just my opinion, there isn't a website out there that you have to pay for that is worth it.

YMMV. Best of luck in your search.

Thanks. Actually have two interviews next week. Who would have thought what a suit, resume and face to face conversation would actually do for a person. WOW. The world without internet. Atleast I know where the fishing is hot.

IMO, it's much more about doing the things you did than looking on an over-priced-orange-useless-website.

Good luck with the interviews.

20 years ago that orange site was okay, but today it's the worst of them all. Bogus job postings and nothing but foreign recruiter postings too! I dropped my membership two years ago because it never improves, it's out-of-date, and out of touch as well as being "Useless." Besides, the color makes me want to vomit.

Ive had climbto350 for just under a year now, back in december I was offered a job, and now last week I received another call and interview and got the job with a charter company flying a citation in PA. Maybe Im lucky, but for me, it worked. I have just over 2000 hrs with 1400 turboprop.

Typed in my phone.

I got a job through 350. After 1 day of flying I already paid off my cost for the year to sign up on 350, bought a fancy dinner, and then some. You just have to be patient and persistent and keep applying until someone bites, I think it will only help narrow your odds on finding that flying job you seek. I'm not a fan of paying, but I think its works well in the sense of it gets to the point and less spam in the job search. Good luck!

I'm a furloughed CRJ pilot. I got a PT gig in a Citation 525 from Climb to 350. In that sense, the website works, but counting on just one charter job probably isnt going to pay the bills.

My goal is to get some resumes and flyers and network my way to a second PT charter job at local FBO's. I have over 5000 TT and about 2600 in a CRJ. I dont have a type and would just be looking for a "seat warmer" First Officer position. Are these jobs out there? What would be the advantage of an owner/operator in having an untyped FO ride in the right seat? I understand there are insurance reasons but is that the only reason someone would pay me to ride FO in their jet?
I'm not sure if this would help my cause, but I have all my CFI ratings with about 2100 dual given.

Also, anyone out there have any success getting some $ from the Workforce Investment Act? I would like to get typed with my ATP.

A friend of mine just got his 737 type through it. He had no jet or turbine experience, but they paid for the 737 anyway.

Around here, they've flat out told people that they aren't funding pilot training for a variety of reasons. YMMV.

Good luck!

Where is "around here" again?
And where was this friend of yours located?
