Default Phone number for Gander and Shanwick

Does anybody have the phone numbers for Gander and/or Shanwick. I want these numbers as a back-up to HF for making position reports when doing crossings.

Anybody do anything diiferent as a back-up to HF?

We are starting to use SAT COMM or FANS

Try to get another aircraft to relay your pos. report on 123.45 (air to air oceanic freq.). Lots of planes, one should hear. then if all else fails, pick up the phone and call... You can request their number from your handler or dispatch.

I never had a problem on HF that was so bad requiring a phone call via SATCOM...If it's that bad out there on HF they'll know about it and increase the seperation times and distance of the planned track seperation...Now that I've seen. Phone numbers can be found on the their Website...Cheers

Send me a PM, I'll give you the numbers to Supervisors at both facilities. I've visited them both, very impressive. Great people to work with.

Controller-Pilot Datalink Communication (CPDLC) is a part of FANS (Future Air Navigation System). It's basically a datalink system using VHF and SATCOM to transmit position reports and many other things to ground controllers without having to make voice position reports using HF radio. It's a nice system and will become more and more popular as time goes on. Automatic Dependant Surveillance (ADS) is another part of it.
