Default Scam?

I have a resume on find-a-pilot, and out of the blue I get a phone call from this guy wanting me to fly a KingAir. It was the weirdest phone interview ever. We would talk for about 10 min then he would he would have to answer and "important" phone call and said he would call me back. This happened three times friday. He was rather secretive about the company info but finally had me pull up the company website. The job seems like a great fit and the pay is right but something seemed off. So I started doing some research and what did I find... not a single thing... the only mention of this company is the website he referred me to. No phonebook listing, the address on the website actually belongs to The UPS Store. I cant find anything with that company name on the FAA website and the site eludes to charter operations while the info he gave me was purely a 91 operation. Thats a lot of red flags right? I'm hoping it all has a logical explanation and is not a scam!

Sounds very fishy to me.

Ask for the tail number, look it up on the FAA, and give the owner a call to confirm.

If you get the feeling something is off, it probably is. I'd walk away if I were you.

What's the big deal - just a low level cargo trip to a Mexican "grass" strip.

No business that owns a KA operates out of a UPS Store--keep looking for a job elsewhere.

Our company mailing address is a UPS Store address and we were operating 4 King Airs and a jet part 91. Now our 135 department has an actual PBO and a UPS Store Mailing.

Nope, his first name started with an E. Talked to him earlier seemed like he was interested in hiring me, training at simcom and such. When I mentioned my concerns... Let's just say he's was not at all pleased. Said that he doesn't need a pilot that doesn't have faith in the company. Wishing he would have appreciated a pilot gathering all available information in making a thoughtful decision and that doesn't operate on blind faith. It is what it is I guess
