Does any one have any news about there operation in the Philadelphia area. I am considering trying to get in with them. Any information you may know would be helpful. Biggest factor is QOL, then pay, types of trips, management, all that good stuff. Thanks.

Well, when you decide if you want to get in with them.....I suggest you send them a resume, schedule yourself an interview, and bring all your questions right to them.
Good Luck.

Maybe someone on here has already done this and the answers can already be given to me. I doubt I'm the first one that would ever be figuring that information out. What's the point of a forum if I'm just going to be told something I already knew I could do. Always better to figure out the information from someone who has had the experience rather then the company who will make it sound as good as possible.

Perhaps you were born in '09, but you will NOT find out anything about a corporate department from a forum, you won't find out until you are working there, PERIOD. Even the interview will out shed some light onto the scene, not the real story. I've said it before, joining a corporate flight Dep't is exactly like getting married, including the divorce possibility.

Here are three threads in the recent past where people have recieved some insight from others on the same information I'm asking now. No need to get hasty. Just looking to see what others think about the flight department if they have had any experience with them. If you haven't or for that matter if no one has heard or experienced anything with the company, then there should be zero replies for this thread.

Brandon,
I'm not quite sure of your background...so here's some help (hopefully)
99% of the random info you get on pilot boards about corporations will be inaccurate. There just isn't 4000 pilots like an airline.
As stated, if you are curious to your fit why not apply? are they hiring? DO YOU KNOW PEOPLE THERE? (obviously not) How do you think most interviews are landed in corporate? Hint - often you know someone there who can vouch that you will fit in well.
Its pretty bold (clueless?) to ask about pay and QOL and "management" on a board just to see if you should consider working there. Its not a regional airline. All you may get is someone digging up a database of aircraft types...and even those get dated quick or often replacement plans are in the works.
Outside the airline world interviews are handled very different. I have news for you, in corporate you are management. There are no "pilot vs management" roles...and that attitude wont get you far. What makes you think they wont tell you the truth and that you will get better info on a random message board?
I have done many interviews in the past (Fortune 5 to 3 pilot departments) It was not unusual to spend 2-3+ hours with an individual. They not only met with department heads, but met one on one with pilots, alone. We encouraged them to ask EVERY AND ANY question they may have. Nothing was hidden. Silent people not concerned with lifestyle scared us. BELIEVE ME, nobody wants to sugar coat anything to try and lure you in.....and be stuck with you and your crappy attitude on 7-10 day trips.
Again, nobody here knows what you want out of life and career. Only you do. Go to the interview, bring ALL your questions. State your goals (you will be asked) Lose the "evil management" attitude, be qualifed and confident - but not cocky. Judge for yourself how you might fit in. Remember, you are looking at them just as hard (or harder) then they are looking at you.
If you cant make a decision on fit from the 1-3 interviews that you may attend at a corporation before an offer is had, then YOU need to work on your interview skills.
All the entire process will cost you is a pressed suit.
Good Luck!

Good flight departments where pilots like to work don't just have pilot slots waiting to be filled by guys like you who one day decide to grace them with your resume. Generally, good corporate jobs are filled by people with an inside track before everyone else knows they were hiring.
The harsh reality is that you have to work some bad jobs and build yourself a solid resume with some good flight time before you're gonna get a gravy job. No good paying job flying big equipment is going to hire a guy who needs to be babysat. There are qualified typed pilots who've paid their dues out there looking for work. Maybe instead of worrying about working holidays you should be out there paying your dues. Anyone with an enviable job has certainly paid theirs.

I know what you mean though. I would say that your are definitely correct about that in saying that I HAD the "evil management" mentality but that makes sense that they wouldn't want someone with them who is fun to be around or who wont be enjoying themselves for a long period of time between trips. At the same time I wouldn't say I need to change my attitude I was just confused about why other threads were able to get info about other flight departments and when I come to ask some of the same questions but about a different company I get bashed for it. But yes that makes sense It sure isn't like an airline where you have thousands of people to ask I knew that the chances of someone knowing about them would be slim but I was just giving it a chance hoping that I could find someone.
Without a doubt as long as they are still interested in me, I will be applying (when the time comes that I can do so) to find out all the information I can and see which direction I want to go with my career.
Anyway, hope that clears up any misunderstanding of why I was asking here. The choice between trying to get to a major or just staying with this one company for hopefully the rest of my career is a hard choice. So asking everyone I can about both options is basically what I'm doing at the moment. My final goal is to become a management pilot (chief, Director of Safety, etc.) which may be easier to become by going into corporate.
