Default Airline to Corporate......

Reccomendations for soon-to-be chronologically challenged airline (727,747-200) guy? Job hunting, aircraft selecting, things I would have no clue about?

(.....I know about PGA thing......)

In what area do you live? Certain areas are easier than others. Getting a corporate gig is all about networking!

Networking is the key...I've had my current job as a DC-10 driver for several years, but I never stop visiting old haunts, employers, and friends who drive other equipment...You never know when you need them...Cheers

Spoken like a true pompous a$$. And yes, I know that you were driving that thing before you were 30. I'm impressed.

Any thoughts about better/easier areas? Also, looking from the outside, it seems like specific type ratings/experience is very key in the corporate flying world. But perhaps knowing the right person trumps that, too?

The east and west coast, AZ, and other like-climated places are probably ideal. Part 91 gigs are even more of a "good old boy" network than the airlines. You have to know people in high places to get into the big corporations. With so many displaced airline guys and gals at fractionals and other 135 outfits you should know some people that can put you in touch with the right contacts.

The networking is pretty much the only reason that I work at an FBO. It's netted a lot of contacts in the last four years that should start coming in handy when I have my 135 mins.
