SkylaneRG and CubGuy, thanks for the replies and encouragement!
I really don't intend to be too calculated. I'm 31, working as a software developer. I think line service would be great for me in more aspects than networking. I need a way to get out of the cubical and do something that feels more productive than writing code (Any ex software guys/gals can identify with this, I am sure).
I set flying aside some time ago due to serious illness in the family. I've got about 1000 hours and just got back into glider towing and instructing. Maybe I can luck into a corporate gig, maybe not. At my stage in the game (mortgage, wife, family responsibilities) - I'll have to accept the future that comes my way with the limitations I have in place.

Go for it. I lost track of the number of business cards I got from pilots/chief pilots as a line guy. Told me to give them a call and keep in touch as I built time. Unfortunately I had the airlines in mind at the time.
