Contract Work
#11
Some companies have a rate for the day of travel (mine pays $200 on travel days), and full rate + per diem on any day you are with the jet. Just make sure it's all understood upfront. I recently did a contract job and had not done that, only to be taken advantage of.. I wrote it off as stupid tax for not following my own advice and assuming something. Happens often. The one I hate the most that I've seen, is a company telling you that they are interested in hiring you full time, but want you to fly a few trips with them to see how you work out. Then they try to under pay you, since you may become a future employee.. Never put up with this.. This is a company that will seek to take advantage of you around every turn..
