It's an option for the G650ER! Pretty cool huh?

Its always an option, a 1mil option and a large weight hit....but whatever they want!

Having looked at one on a Global, check what it takes away from the baggage area also.

NowCorporate and I know there are always teething issues with a new model :).

When we sold our Falcons and went with Gulfstreams, there was a lot of b**ching about Gxxx it not being like a Falcon but over time we have learned to really like the performance, reliability and support.

To keep things in perspective, all aircraft have their good and bad points. Just have to find the one that fits all the good points you need :).

Kevin

p.s. Of all the issues with the 7X (and there were many), not one was with the FBW system.

What was the issue that the 7X had regarding the Pitch trim. It grounded the entire fleet if I remember correctly.

Yes it did. That was due to a defective horizontal stabilizer control unit on certain serial number aircraft.

Yeah, fly a Global with one.

That's funny! One time I pulled into a tie down spot at an uncontrolled field and shut down. As soon as I got out, I heard the muffled sound of what seemed like a person in some sort of distress. This was accompanied by a banging sound. It was a guy that I had parked next to. As I got closer I understood he was saying to let him out. His door handle had broken off, it was Summer and he had been sitting there for about an hour trying to get someone's attention. This was before everyone had cell phones; though apparently he didn't think to use his radio, or other possible alternatives...

What is the weight hit for the shower and how much of the aft cabin is lost for it?

galaxy flyer 11-14-2014 06:44 PM

Not sure of the weight penalty, but guessing 350# net including the water. It eliminates the aft wardrobe on the left side, doesn't impinge on either aft stateroom or baggage area. The aft lav is a bit more cramped, too. There's about 40 minutes of shower time. I haven't tried, but those that have like it. I didn't know it was a G650 option.

I was told it was an option on the G650ER only. 350lbs isn't much compared to what I was thinking.
