I went from a 121 regional with "flow" to a major as a 4 year FO, to CA with a 91 corporate outfit. My QOL and pay have substantially increased by taking a leap of faith and leaving the airlines. I too worry from time to time about what happens if something were to happen to my employer. I'm blessed to have a lot of TT and turbine time that if something happened I could go back to a good airline with little problem; but as an earlier post said, corporate employers don't really care about time, they care about your attributes and personality. So don't be too concerned with time if you want to stay corporate. Many corporate employers get that most corporate flight departments don't fly a whole lot each year and would rather measure you by recent flight experience and how you present yourself. Airlines are different, you are an asset of the company and not a person (to the bean counters), therefore time and resume do matter. But even with this said, the pilot shortage at the airlines is being felt and not having a whole lot of time could still land you a good job. If there is anything you could take from my ramble: if you're happy, stay. If you decide to go airline, don't go to the regionals if you can help it. It would take 10 years at a regional to recoupe what your currently making and the schedules and work contracts suck. Try and go directly into a major carrier if you can help it. You have a good amount of TT, so that should help quite a bit at the airlines. ME time is also very valuable to have if looking at the airlines. Just my two cents.
