Yes.

Yes. I'll get a Pfizer or Moderna mRNA vaccine when one is made available to me, but I'd prefer that be after it is made available to the entire 65+ demographic

??? But why would they use anything remotely resembling a prion in a vaccine for a virus?

If you need a bracket what do you load into your CNC machine, a blueprint for a bracket or a blueprint for a fission bomb?

Even if the CNC malfunctions, you might get a bracket that doesn't fit but it won't make a fission bomb by accident.

It's astronomically more likely that spontaneous mutagenesis of your own DNA will result in runaway growth which will ultimately take over and destroy your entire body. Sound scary? It's called cancer, and it's a real thing. Also infinitely more likely than some random protein just deciding to become a prion.

Ah, but your CNC machine is taking some raw material and - in your example - trying to make something more complicated. Entropy alone works against that. To make a prion problem all you need to do is to gently tweak something complex - a prion protein in the brain - and cause it to fold into a different 3D shape. No entropy problem at all. Unlikely in the extreme. But it certainly isn’t impossible.

For that matter I’m aware of at least one criticality event involving a contractor substituting a fat holding tank for a long skinny one in a processing unit for Plutonium Nitrate because the skinny one was out of stock. Amazingly, the NRC admin guy managing the contract bought off on the change order without running it by the guy who had made the design. It wasn’t until the tank was filled and the criticality event occurred that the operators found out that the long skinny tank was to keep the Plutonium nitrate solution from attaining a critical spherical size. Fortunately nobody killed in the steam explosion and just an expensive mess to clean up.

But $hit does happen, even if it’s wildly improbable. Even sometimes when people who are supposed to know have written things off as safe. Just ask the parents of a thalidomide kid if there are any still alive.

Having said that, by the time my opportunity comes around there will likely be enough experience with any of the vaccines that I’ll have no hesitation getting it. But would I give it to my nine year old daughter today? Someone at near negligible risk for a bad COVID outcome? Naw, the wife and I may wait another nine or ten months to make that decision. Let those at higher risk who stand to have greater benefit be the guinea pigs...

If it is as bad as some people say, half the doctors and nurses in the country will drop dead from a reaction before they get to me. (I’m not laying awake worrying about it. After 30,000 in phase three trials, they have a handle on reactions. And they did not have to wait nine months to know.)

mRNA vaccines to be tested against new UK strain, they need two weeks of data, but expect the vaccines to work.

While we wait on the data, it's important that we hysteria.

The influenza vaccines have not reduced deaths from influenza, and current COVID vaccine trials don’t tell us if COVID vaccines will reduce fatalities.

Facemasks v2.0 beta?

The average person will get vaccinated. Then they will be like "eff this crap", I'm doing what I want.

We're seeing vast non-compliance right now due to covid fatigue, very few people who have been vaccinated will be interested in endless, perpetual compliance. I'm pretty sure of that.
