Both Gary Kelly (SWA) and Robin Hayes (Jetblue) were in DC a few weeks ago asking for clean extension of the PSP. To say that those three airline no longer need or want help is a stretch.

Ughhhhh an airline that believes they are ready to go back to normalcy and doesn’t want its competitors to get additional grant money. If they’re begging for money in Washington, they obviously see a need for it. It’s not like they were in DC for other business as well. You could easily plead for an extension of the PSP over video, if it wasn’t a high priority for you.

While it might seem like there are at least a couple airlines who might prefer to let nature take it's course at this point, a new round of BK's isn't going to be good for anyone, especially those who are too solvent for BK.

If the big-3 shed 70% of their widebodies and knock NB CA/FO down to $200/$120 even the LCC's will lose their edge.

Mnunchin seeks the money to be returned...

Now, Mnuchin wants some of the money back, arguing many markets are no longer at risk of seizing up and so don’t need further aid beyond next month. In his sights are facilities which sought to ease corporate credit and municipal-borrowing and also offered loans to small and medium-sized businesses. He asked that four other programs be kept in place for an additional 90 days.

Financial conditions are quite strong,” Mnuchin said in an interview. “The good news is, the markets have recovered significantly,” he said. Companies don’t need more loans, and instead require more grant money, which requires action from Congress, he said.

Atlas Air took millions and doesn't want to give it back, despite benefiting from a robust boom in online ordering and package delivery.

Just my guess, but I think the longer this goes without passing the less likely it is that it will ever be passed. More and more congresspeople are going to assume that either the vaccine is going to fix everything or that the bankruptcy of a few airlines are going to be the least of the country’s problems.

That sounds simplistic, I know, but we are talking Congress here.
