Interesting tactic. A judge would probably enjoin at least some of the orders. But whoever files the motion will suffer political damage for it. If the stock market would crash you would see congressional action within 24 hours. Without that I give a compromise a 50/50 chance this week (Aug 10-14) and 80/20 the next (Aug 17-21).

PSP wasn't mentioned because it isn't contentious (except for EXPAT1). There are no political points to be scored on either side by opposing it (besides tea party types that McConnell broadly ignores). It really appears that the unions have this one in the bag. They've learned hard lessons from the last few downturns and applied them to great success so far this time.

We'll see what happens next.

We still have another month and a half to get an airline deal done, I'm very optimistic as well.

A majority of the politicians say they’re FOR extensions that protect airline jobs. That sounded promising when on the same day 16 senate republicans and Trump said so and given you’d assume the dem version would already include such.

However,

Neither side’s version of aid this time around includes such. So it’s not even a bargaining point. Feels a lot more like lip service when you understand that.

Pretty much have the same thoughts on this.

It will be tossed in as an amendment before the floor vote just like last time. Paying attention to the process and biting your nails with worry is what they want. Don't give in. You sent it your call to action, now relax and let the lobbist work.

It’s campaign season. They will both argue back and forth and I will guess by September when the eviction crisis could hit it will be solved. Not before political points are scored though.
