Florida = California

1 state has had freedom for 10 months and in person school for the entire year. 4% unemployment. Massive growth in population. A steady decline in daily deaths.

1 state has no in person schooling for over a year. How screwed are their childrenís growth now. 8.5% unemployment and massive citizen loss.

ok and how are the deaths per million for the other less restrictive states like FL? Or for the other ones that are more restrictive like CA? Deaths per million between CA and FL is certainly interesting but at the end of the day, itís cherry picking. And FL has technically done worse. As far as the citizen loss, itís still the most populated state with highest GDP in the US by far but I agree the politics need to be adjusted a bit.

Yes, California rose with the nation...and then kept going, to the tune of 25%ish more than the rest of the country, despite some of the most stringent NPIs in the nation. In response, Newsom shut down OUTDOOR dining. You may recall the news reports of SoCal hospitals being inundated with patients, and some even running out of supplemental oxygen. It was, without question, awful.

On the backside of that, California is outperforming the nation now, likely due to a combination of vaccine uptake and infection-conferred immunity.

Should have been the logical approach from the very beginning. But instead we wanted to flatten a curve. And here we are, over a year later, moving the goal posts.

How is infection conferred immunity going for Brazil?

Well Iíve already posted this but Iíll do it again. Lockdown states are leading in deaths per million.

But even if you want to take the top 15 itís about half lockdowns half not. Which should lead you to the logical conclusion that lockdown or no lockdown it doesnít actually matter. Therefore all lockdowns do is add to the misery.

You cannot compare New England in good faith to the rest of the country.

Those states had the misfortune of going through the COVID spank-machine first while Trump denied COVID existed.

Every state thereafter, even the less restricted states, learned from the example that NY and the surrounding states gave.

Or it means that less densely populated rural areas suffered as bad as congested metropolises and sacrificed their advantage against the virus by not implementing mitigation strategies. Seriously. Why should the dakotas be up there?

Keep making excuses and spouting debunked claims.

"Sign for the Jet"...that's two strikes right there. A third strike because the J is capitalized.
