Then we would’ve had herd immunity in a month or two.

What was the constant? Most people were wearing masks. The concept of a mouth and nose filter helping to mitigate an airborne contaminant is so simple my three year old gets it. Most anti masters get it too, but they have to make the argument that they don't work so they can go around spreading Covid without feeling guilty about it.

The link is about the record of “stay at home” mandates, not masks and their specific effects on the doubling rate. Now, I’ll stipulate wearingmasks make a lot of common sense for the symptomatic people, who should isolate anyway, make sense in indoor crowded buildings, but make no sense driving a car alone, walking down the street or standing at a beach.

Nothing says the doubling rate goes on to infinity, either. India has totally succumbed and states that lifted the mask rule still saw infections stop at around 20% of the population.

Australia and NZ did not succeed with PPE mandates. They had the same social and resistance issues.

They Closed the borders to the country and between regions until the vaccine was available. If someone tested positive they locked them and all who were in contact down and isolated the whole region.

It was not a “happy compliance” by the citizens, they had the same resistance, conspiracy theory, fights for liberties and demonstrations as anywhere else. Scroll the Australian news feeds and you’ll see similar stories as here.

Give us all a break, you’re living in a fantasy, have no idea about viruses and how immediately and rapidly virus begin to mutate from person to person. Follow the science.

Masks in no way stopped the doubling of the virus, as AU and others proved it is very simple; isolation of those infected stops the spread.

Good hygiene is also a proven way to slow the spread of not only viruses, but also bacterial illness. There’s a reason why food workers are required to wash their hands after using the facilities.

Masks do two things, a reminder to use good hygiene and to show righteous behavior conforming to the narrative.

I caught the china virus last year when we were all wearing your beloved mask. However since I am neither obese nor am I registered democrat, statistically speaking it was not a big deal for me. What it did end up being was two weeks company paid medical leave in exchange for feeling run down for a few days. Not a bad tradeoff to be honest.

For months, the Masked Covidians have been screaming "Muh SCIENCE!!!1!" - despite science, including the CDC's own data, suggesting masks are near worthless. There has been a guy here who posted over and over again demanding to see scientific evidence, not just a hypothesis, that masks don't work.

Well, here you go. And the conclusion of the study is in direct contradiction to the researchers' hypothesis.

Peer reviews will come. But here's your "SCIENCE!!1!" You people don't want science. You want confirmation of your biases so you don't have to come to terms with the fact that you've been blindly following nothing for over a year.
The anti mask crowd arguments are pathetic. Just slightly above the anti-vax crowd arguments.

So what? Because that means your article can’t be taken seriously unless you’re a hoaxer, just like your post as a supposed fact. It’s well understood that if you are sick, masks limit the spread and buy you time in a closed environment. At the very least they limit viral
loads. So assuming you are right that the science of masks is a hoax, what would you have had people do? Walk around infecting people? Freedumb? You guys never give a solution, it’s just complaining and confirmation bias.

People on this thread “Here is an article saying masks don’t work. See, science. “Follow the science,” this article says masks don’t work

Same people on another thread “I don’t care what science says about the vaccines, it’s rushed and I won’t take it. My sister in law is in the medical profession and she won’t take it. I don’t care what the scientific consensus is, I think it’s rushed”
