Ran into our Aussie flight attendant yesterday on a crew swap. Not much time to talk but most of her family still lives in Oz and she said it’s even worse than you think it is. The lockdowns that is, not the threat of Covid.

I wouldn’t have expected such an Orwellian, authoritarian, dystopian power grab of this magnitude from a modern western democracy but it proves one thing: Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.

As to your question R1830, they’ll never admit they were wrong. In Oz, the UK, the US or anywhere. Admitting that none of this worked would destabilize their authority and control.

it is bad there they cannot travel freely in their own country and I don’t mean curfews. I was told last timeI was there a few months ago they cannot travel from state to state in the country by our transportation driver.
