Their returning Olympic athletes have to quarantine for 14 days in Sydney, then another 14 days if they go home to another state. That's 28 days of quarantine.

I am planning a big trip with my wife and before Rona we were really wanting to visit Australia. No longer.

Australia was one of the places I would have liked to visit before, now after they have shown their true colors, I no longer wish to ever set foot there. The only time you will ever find me there is if I'm assigned a trip for work. Add Canada to that list too after we were not allowed to even step outside the aircraft except for the walkaround during our tech stop in Gander. They didn't even let us go into the FBO real quick to use the restroom (I asked specifically). That was after crossing the Atlantic in a plane with no lav. So much for the friendly Canadians. Luckily at least on the northern border that insanity ended this week, but just the fact that they thought such a thing was humane for all this time puts them on the "post COVID no personal travel" list too. The FBO lady was incredibly nice though and brought us out some coffee and ice cream so at least the regular people still are pleasant. It's their government, their insane rules, and those that enforce them blindly (and rudely in the case of the customs agents we encountered) that are the problem.

We agree.
It’s crazy how many places I thought were regular countries with normal citizens and governments until Rona brought the thugs to the surface.
I simply don’t care to spend one red cent in these tyrannical dictators places of refuge.
Hell, even some states I really don’t ever want to see again, assuming there is a future after this nonsense.

We have had multiple trips to Aussieland (Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne) over the past year.
The "circus" you go through is quite exotic. The ramp personnel are decked out in face sheilds and blue gowns as they park you aircraft. You are escorted on a "Red Zone" bus to the terminal and processed. The same bus drives you to the quarentine hotel for your incarceration.
They lobby, elevators and hallways are plastic lined and ready for a murder scene.
They knock on your door three times a day with food and a final knock for when they escort you back to the airport.
The Aussies have lost their ever lovin minds. But they justify it by their case counts.
