It goes on to list reasons for a false alarm and then goes on to say if it is a real fire still do not leave room until instructed so they can maintain social distancing. Yea I bet the original fire evacuation plans took that into consideration. They are literally going to get people killed.

Way too much emphasis on police and military enforced lockdowns and $3900 fines and way too little emphasis on making vaccines available to those who want it.
it was and is a losing strategy. If you can’t keep smugglers from importing meth from Indonesia and Thailand - and they can’t - stopping people from bringing in the delta variant ain’t going to happen.
Now, having spent their credibility, the Aussie and Kiwi governments are in deep kimchee with their angry and largely unvaccinated people.

As to your question R1830, they’ll never admit they were wrong. In Oz, the UK, the US or anywhere. Admitting that none of this worked would destabilize their authority and control.

Ran into our Aussie flight attendant yesterday on a crew swap. Not much time to talk but most of her family still lives in Oz and she said it’s even worse than you think it is. The lockdowns that is, not the threat of Covid.
