I am planning a big trip with my wife and before Rona we were really wanting to visit Australia. No longer.

Consider yourself lucky because that place was not worth the time you spend on a plane to get there. Checkout Iceland, it's amazing. If you want a beach, So-Cal or the Keyes will suffice.

The "circus" you go through is quite exotic. The ramp personnel are decked out in face sheilds and blue gowns as they park you aircraft. You are escorted on a "Red Zone" bus to the terminal and processed. The same bus drives you to the quarentine hotel for your incarceration.

They lobby, elevators and hallways are plastic lined and ready for a murder scene.
They knock on your door three times a day with food and a final knock for when they escort you back to the airport.

The Aussies have lost their ever lovin minds. But they justify it by their case counts.
Wait!? You had a lobby and elevator? I stayed there several months ago and it was at a housing encampment. Weird thing is we weren't tested until we were in our rooms for over an hour!

I also have friends who live therr who are passed ****ed at their idiot government. I feel bad posting pix when I travel as they've been cooped up forever. These guys are all about several amazing trips a year so I can't even imagine!

They came to fetch our brain matter with 20 mins of walking in the room.
Food was terrible, saving Grace was they would let us order on Uber Eats and order beer in the hotel.

Mantra Tullamarine YMMB is where we were held up.

Insanity.

How it works: Under alert level 4 restrictions, schools move to remote classes and non-essential businesses close — including food delivery services. Only essential travel is permitted, and water activities like swimming are banned.
  • People must remain at home unless they're exercising outdoors, sticking to their neighborhoods and within their household "bubbles."
