It’s a good time. My wife really enjoyed it. There were a few who had their wives there with little kiddos at a close hotel with family members so it would work out (yes that costs some money). It’s an event to share with your better half. Logistically, it may take some work, but that’s the career. Do what is needed to make it work.

I didn’t bring my spouse for the Indoc dinner and regretted it later. It would have been cool to have her there. I brought her to the Captain winging buffet and it was worth it too.

The Wing Ceremony is now buffet style? Definitely different from the indoc dinner when I got hired a few years back. Seeing how you did both, how were they similar/different? Mine's coming up so curious to see how it's set up now.

The new one is definitely more relaxed. Almost fun. I liked the food choices better because there were several options. For the Captain part specifically it is just walk around with significant other and explore museum, get some pics, shake a hand, eat some pretty good food, talk to who you want, have a drink or two and then take the bus back to the hotel. I made a point to talk to about 6 of the new hires and welcome them to Delta but that is not even necessary.

It's basically a mingle thing now. There's some small high top tables set up. There's several bars with beer and wine. They have food stations around the outside of the room. A fish, a meat, a poultry and side dishes. You point, they serve on small plates. There's also people walking around with apps. It's a classy but low key affair.
