SDQ STI commute and layovers
Is the j/s to JFK available most of the time?
Seems that there are at least 3-4 flights a day to each airport on a 73, how many are layovers and how short/long?
All done by JFK crews?
Can someone junior hold those layovers?
Would it be possible to bid and have almost whole month scheduled with those layovers?
Thanks much!

Jumpseats to get back and forth should be available. Long really ugly ride on a 737. You can reserve the jumpseat in advance. Keep in mind the Delta commuter policy requires a backup flight two hours later then your primary flight.

Routes and equipment flying those routes change almost monthly. Bidding equipment on the expectation of layovers is somewhat of a fools errand. Those routes are also flown as turns with no layovers at times. My answer would be don't have any expectations of being able to layover there. By the time you finished 737 school the A321 might be flying it. Switch to the A321 and it might go to the 757 in high season and back to the 737 in low season.

The policy that you will be disciplined under by the company if you have commuting issues requires two hours. The company helping you get to work with PS is a totally different issue.
