So by this logic, if I'm a Maddog FO and I want to fly the 320, I shouldn't put in an AE?
OK.

OK.
If your category is closing you should have only a MD to the 320. If you put a AE in for the 320 they will award it. You lose benefits at that point such as paid move, S1 passes to commute and incur a 2 year freeze. If you can hold it on a AE you will get it on a MD.

I'd go with sailing on this one

That's exactly what I would do. You'll get it either way, MD just doesn't incur a seat lock. It can't hurt to have options.

Wasnt there also a blip in the contract for these new guys being able to bid an aircraft in another base if their aircraft wasn't based there? I'll try and look it up later if someone doesn't beat me to it.

Yes, but it's in reference to the upcoming initial 2 year seat lock which can be reduced to 1 year for the scenario you suggested.
