Are you coming off the Mad Dog or a real Boeing?

If so, anything else is going to be a cakewalk!

If you haven't flown the Mad Dog, bid that instead of the A320. You haven't lived until you've nearly died, landing in a snowstorm with a good crosswind in a Mad Dog!

Yes, someday at your entrance conversation will stop, mouths fall open, eyes fill with tears, and all feel honored to be in the presence of ... a surviving Mad Dog Pilot. 😎

There's nothing to fear except fear itself, and a green on green Mad Dog crew.

Think: three stooges trying to catch a pig.

Having never flown it, I'm seriously contemplating M88A for just that reason.

There should be a pin to put below your wings for all former and current Mad Dog pilots.

Maybe a skull and crossbones.
Perhaps a 50 mission crush cap too.

Just be careful that you know what your QOL is actually going to be like. I know several first time 320 CA's who were severely disappointed. That includes those coming from more senior narrow body CA's as well as (obviously) much more senior FO's across the system. "The Bus" will lure you with legend and lore about how it will change your life (it won't) and how great the flying is because it can do trans cons etc. It can, but compared to the 73 and 75, hardly ever does.

Go find the page (plus or minus a page) in the bid awards and look at the worst case lines that would apply to you if you got them. That is your future QOL. Its often worse, and rarely better, than that. If you're cool with that then great. As for everything else, its just an airplane. Not any harder to learn than anything else, and not a life changing ergo-fest like the inter webs likes to pretend it is.

Don't know how the other bases are but MSP has numerous horrid 5 day trips on the 320. 4 sometimes 5 leg days and short nights. Being junior might not be so good.
