Default New hire to SEA (time frame)

Recently was offered the CJO! Very excited. Any idea how long it might take to be awarded SEA (any fleet type.) Also looking for any insight on schedule, days off, tips, the quality of flying, good resources, etc.

Thanks for your time!

Welcome aboard and congratulations!

I'd start with the "Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?" thread.

There were some new-hires that got 7ER in SEA recently. There are also some fairly junior people on the 73N (around 1 year longevity I think). The current AE has a fair number of 7ER openings out there, so if all positions aren't filled there may be some positions in future new hire classes. If you aren't that lucky I'd say bid 7ER or 73N anywhere and bid SEA on the first AE you can. If those fleets aren't available in your new-hire class you'll likely be waiting at least 1 year, after which you'll be able to bid off your initial fleet if needed to change domiciles.

I was a May 16 hire, 73n, spent 6 months NYC, 3 months LAX, then SEA. So 9 months to living the dream. You may be able to get here faster on the 7er.

Flying is decent, but lots of redeyes...not that I've flown SEA trips that much.

I've worked about 14 days, including 5 training days, sitting on reserve since 2 Jan. I'll agree with previous caller and say it'll be a year or under to get here.

Hunker down, prepare for a crappy commute for awhile (although it'll be better than you think), and you'll be here before you know it!

And congrats!
