Default Time to interview invite email to interview

Been fortunate enough to receive an invite to interview this morning via email. Anyone know how far out they are interviewing at this point? I'm hoping it's not a case of next week! I was kind of caught off guard by this and would like a few weeks to prep, at least.

Thanks!

4 weeks seems to be the norm.

You aren't obligated to take first- available. Don't interview before you feel very ready...I'd personally take a 2 week slip (and potential seniority loss) over a "sorry, please try again in 6 months."

Agreed.

Once I call back HR, should I be prepped on any HR style interview questions such as, "why Delta, why me?", etc. Or is it simply a call to schedule an interview.

Thanks.

Purely a scheduling matter that only requires you to be polite and professional. I'd get a date on the books with your best forecast of preparedness if I were in your shoes.

When I got the email they had one slot available in 8 days, which I politely declined. The next availability was 7 weeks out.

Guys. Please do not wait until you get an invite. As soon as your app is complete, you need to start prepping. There is a wealth of information out there. Start studying ahead of time and many guys also spend the money on the mock interview course. I only had 2 weeks from my invite until the actual interview. Delaying the interview because you have not prepared is only hurting yourself.

Oh my. I know quite a few guys who would have gladly taken that interview slot. Take the first interview and first class date. Seniority is everything, especially when we are hiring 100 a month.
