I read all the airline forums, not just Delta Air Lines. I comment more here because you guys' constant whining and blathering when you have better jobs than 90% of pilots provides pure internet gold. And I'm really bored. Just because you don't like my comment, doesn't make it trolling. Good to see moderators still not following the TOS when they call people out. I'm talking to you 80 clamp. Y'all fly safe and keep the material coming. Denny |

At least we're "industry leading whiners", so we got that going for us, which is nice.

ecam, since I know you're going to read this. "Calling people out" is not prohibited in the TOU. Your posting history is public, and everyone can see it and look through it. You've openly said several times that you fly the 320 for Allegiant.
What is prohibited is "outing" someone, i.e. making their name known. I did not do that. So with that, you can stop being a industry leading whiner about that now, thank you. ;) ' Btw, many of us deltoids over here know who each other are. This is just shop talk over beers remotely. |

You nailed it on the constant whining by Delta guys on here. Keep in mind however that there are about 8 super whiners on here who do 95% of the whining. The other 14,000 pilots are happy to have a great job. A very small number have lost their meds!

Ok, which FOs did you vote for in the most recent election? Then ask yourself again if you represent the vast majority of pilots.

You may not be employed as a manager, but you are defiantly working for management. Skip the PM. I think collectively we can raise your $1000 to self identify. You could use the money if you're doing this all for free. Inquiring minds.
That would only be 10 in for $100 or 20 in for $50. Well??? |

.You guys are barking up the wrong tree. Sailingfun is most definitely NOT a mgt shill. He is, however, very, very well informed. The average forumite would be far better served by paying attention to his posts rather than piling onto emotional (bs) diatribes by the usual suspects.

My point exactly. He deseminates whatever is put in his ear. Without question and with just the right dose of superiority. In others words "you don't know what I (we) know, I (we) can't elaborate or explain it to you because it's not public consumption information and you won't understand anyway. So trust that I'm right and they'll never do that."
.Chief pilots and, to a lesser degree, Line check pilots are privy to publicly undisclosed plans going forward. They are highly encouraged to pass that info on verbally to the pilot group. (Fly with an LCP after one of their meeting for great gouge). They are strictly forbidden, however, from posting that gouge on public forums, since shareholders would not be privy to that intel. I know who sailingfun is. My guess is that he has a highly placed source(s). His intel is very accurate. It is one of the interesting things that sets us apart from other companies--- management's willingness to pass down future plans to the pilots. I am grateful for that. . |
More importantly, Ditch the FO and the FA's and disappear until there is an empty jet attached to the jetway. Even at Delta you dont have to sit around holding hands and singing kumbaya...Terrible sa on the part of the captain.

Blindly parroting managements message can be very harmful to the pilots. Just think about TA1. We had an ATL FO rep encouraging others to vote for TA1 because he's seen the inside numbers. Hurry up and vote yes. Hurry up and give up our profit sharing. The ship is sinking. Better get it now because it'll be gone tomorrow!
Thinking your smarter than others because you've been fed some selective info by management doesn't make you smarter than others. It can make you vulnerable. If you're in a position to represent the pilot group and you buy into this selective info, you can forever harm the pilot group. These "company" reps are just like a naive pilot in the Philippines. Oh you look like Movie Star, Oh you are soooo smart, Oh I love you long time. Hear it enough or just arrogant enough, some might actually buy into it. |

Some guys buy into this "I have a secret" management club a little too much. They may be well informed, but it is information that management fed them. Consider the source. |
There may have been some somewhat heated back and forth here, but still a less frustrating experience than the chitchat board. Man, those guys can't help themselves from getting into a cage match on about every post.
