Default Another Delta IT issue?

Multiple 320B trips reporting within the next hour or so at several bases have been in Open Time since last night and others added hours ago...and no attempt to cover them yet.

Scheduling buffoonery or IT issue?

It's just Delta being caught with their pants down once again. That's what you get when you have skeleton crews as it is...might work during normal ops but the second there's IROPS it all goes to sh!t.

On the FA side there's about 30 open trips for today in NY and 15 in ATL with nobody left to cover them.

Some trips are being covered in ATL now but, for example, ATL has a 10:00am report they just started trying to cover at 9:54am...even though it's been in Open Time for several hours.

There are 12pm and 1pm reports in NY with zero attempts to cover yet.

Are there reserves available? Can you see that? For example JFK-AMS last night was delayed until this morning and finally cancelled because of no crew availability.

Yes and no. We can see available reserve pilot numbers but they don't update availability real-time...only during PCS runs (4 times a day). Even if they did update real-time (when a reserve pilot is assigned a trip), these numbers don't give the full picture, i.e. who has rest for what, who's on short call and being saved for a last-minute callout, etc.

For example, I've seen Green Slips go out with 6-8 reserve pilots available and trips get filled by a reserve pilot when the numbers say 0 available.

So, generally speaking, we can tell if the Company is in need but it's only a 75% solution at best.

The Cancelled flight was a A330. We are overstaffed on the 330A in NYC. Lots of reserves available for Captains. The issue was either MTC or Flight Attendants or FO's.

The Flt Info says it was originally delayed due to no FO but then all the FAs times out and there was nobody to cover the trip (8 FAs min). As a matter of fact, nearly every international trip today for FAs is going out short staffed and some even at minimum staffing.

There's only one way to describe how Delta chooses to deal with Summer flying every year: PATHETIC.
