Early sales for those SXSW AMS flights are encouraging and some are saying it will be announced as a seasonal route at least.

Meanwhile BA's LHR nonstop has been alive and well for 3 years now with 788/9 and 772 equipment.

On the domestic front SEA was quickly increased to 2x daily, BOS service is to commence in October and RDU is looking like it'll upgauge to a 717 in the spring.
Yeah I have heard that AUS will likely be made permanent, and DL is interested in 4-5 gates from the expansion.

CMH is probably likely, just because they don't have service to Europe and there is a sizeable FF base there.

We are being paid 5.5 million to operate the IND route the first year. Any other cities that want to pony up that kind of cash could see service.

You are correct about the money provided by certain cities. We first select the focus city, then approach them and negotiate the money to idemnify startup losses. Not the other way around.

The incentives coming from IND don't really protect against losses, and to be honest they are quite odd...

"The Indiana Economic Development Corp. is offering Delta up to $5.5 million in conditional incentives over the next two years, based on how many passengers are on the flights.

IEDC spokeswoman Abby Gras said Delta can earn up to $3.5 million in incentives in the first year and up to $2 million in the second if the airline meets agreed-upon passenger goals. The more people take the flights, the more Delta can earn."

So the flights will need to be full to receive all $5.5 million of the incentive, I wonder what DL has up its sleeve...

Why not? If the point for Indy is to get people to go to Indy, why would they care if Delta makes ticket revenue off of them?

I know we were at least initially paid for the PIT-CDG route years ago, are we still? That airport is coming into significant cash right now and making some good growth again as a non hub airport. They are openly searching for more international. They now have Reykjavík with WOW, and Frankfurt with Condor. AMS or LHR would be a great addition.

I asked a networking guy a few months back about any future expansion though, he basically told me to keep dreaming.
