I wonder if there is a retrofit available to change the flight deck of the current 330 to the Neo flight deck. If there was one big 330/350 category the trips would be really good.
If this is not possible to do what will they do with the different flight decks of the two 330s

It’s my understanding that the 330NEO will have an upgraded 330 flight deck, and the current 330s will be updated to align them with the NEOs.

FWIW, the flight decks of the 320CEO and 320NEO are nearly identical. I don't think common type between 330NEO and 350 is in the works....

Could be wrong...

Per the FAA I believe the 350 and 330 share type ratings, whether or nor Delta treats them that way remains to be seen.

Everything airbus has put out shows the cockpit displays and avionics on the NEO being virtually identical to the current 330. The windows will be from the 350. The FAA considers the two aircraft as having a common type rating if differences training is completed. They require however that currency be maintained in each airframe. That makes it difficult to fly it in one category.

Except for some black paint, the windows on the 330NEO are unchanged. Look at this 330NEO prior to painting ......

They going to call it a subtype then? (that was a joke) Because I don't recall anything in the FARs that leads to "it's the same type for everything except landing currency... then it's not"

757/767 is the same type rating. 787/777 and A330/A350 are common type ratings.

757/767 and as far as I know 787/777 don't require landings in each variant for currency.

Point of clarification-

330-900 flight deck is the same as the 330-200/300...with some minor updates not noticeable to the lay-person.

The -900 will have winglets that are similar to the 350. And, now, for some reason the NEO cockpit windows have the “raccoon” like on the 350. The 321 NEOs will also have the raccoon mask.

How many times do I have to say it. It’s not “Raccoon”! It’s “TRASH PANDA”
