Recruiting to win...?
#1
As much as we hear that Delta is competing in the West/Northest with the Eskimo, I'm wondering why they wouldn't take the easy route of just taking the pilots?
Think about how holding a few events in Seattle/LA/SFO would potentially rip the bottom out of the Alaska seniority list in both fleets.
It would also have a corollary effect of driving up Air Groups' HR related costs across the board.
Anybody with a good answer as to why this hasn't already happened?

I’m sure there is some unwritten rule that looks down on targeted recruiting like that. We could just as easily hire all of the QX LCA’s and sim instructors to inflict damage or do the same to a competitors connection carrier, but that’s bad business juju.
I’m sure we also want pilots to work here (or put in the app, network, etc) that want to work here rather than the ones who aren’t even trying.
As far as competing goes, I think the competition is going well and will bet better when the new customs and gate shuffle happens in SEA.
