Not every restriction will stop everyone every time. It’s called the Swiss cheese model. We use the same thing in aviation safety. Ok, he passes a background check, but he still wouldn’t have been able to buy an AR-15 and still would not have been able to get high capacity magazines. This is why we need several modes of preventing these tragedies.

No doubt in my mind that if we asked FedEx for clarification, they would state that AR-15’s do not belong in the hands of civilians.

The kid didn’t use what you consider high capacity magazines. Just making sure you have all the facts.

The military isn’t using AR-15s these days....

No, I'm being precise. If you want a ban on assault "style" weapons, go for it. That's your right. There is already a ban on assault weapons. Words matter. I am not taking either side. In this debate I will keep my own counsel.

I agree that what FedEx meant to say is assault style weapons including the AR-15. According to the quote posted, that's not what they actually said...

My ex wife banned my high capacity magazine assault weapon.

Ruined the marriage.

Words do matter. And I would submit that, in this case, the word "AUTOMATIC" is a red herring.

Anyone who's ever fired one of these things knows what an awesome rate of fire you can lay down, full auto or no.

Also, there's the physics. The .223 round turns to flesh to jello and bones to dust. There's literally nothing left for the docs to fix.
