I'm curious about this, do you mind sharing some numbers?

I'm renting out my home I used to live in before we moved. After taxes and insurance I clear about 800 a month. Its not making me rich but in 20 years the house will be paid off.

Years ago I heard a captain telling me about digging/ blasting for sliver in his back yard. This was in the suburbs of Boston. The motorcycle helmet for safety was also a nice touch.

Thought about that, but every time I run the numbers it just doesn't quite work out.

Ask anyone who has had a medical issue or lived through a furlough, diversity isn't a bad thing. Plus, there are plenty of reasons to work aside from total income: intellectual curiosity, income diversity, financial independence, etc. Most seem to get into the rental game and enjoy it. Some have gotten more creative and bought businesses or consult on the side. Ran into one dude who was a motivational speaker, it was a pretty cool story.
