There is a list of 140 countries where text and 2g data are free, and calls are 20 cents per minute. Many countries the data is 4G or better, but that is not guaranteed.

Just switched to T-Mobile in the last month and probably going back to ATT. Perks aren't as generous as T-Mobile and the prices are a bit more. But having coverage was never an issue when I was on ATT. So far in the locations I've been in Michigan and SLC there is ZERO coverage in the locations I've been (to include the SLC airport). The coverage just isn't there for it to be worth free netflix. Also, intl data is nice but very slow, great for e-mail and text.
