Can anyone confirm what’s going on with a program called “Propel?” I’ve heard that it’s a 0 to Hero Program for graduates of select colleges to get a no-interview flow to Delta. They selectees have to work 42 months for a Delta Connection carrier then go straight to mainline. Apparently existing DC pilots aren’t allowed to participate.

How can it be a “0 to hero” program if they choose from “select colleges?”

What/who is your source?

He might be at one of the Universities setting up the program. They come here to 9E for several years, then off to Delta. It's nothing more than an enhanced EtD program all over again.

Didn't know it had a name yet. Details still being worked out, from what I understand. Basically setting pipelines in place to feed regional carriers and then us with pilots in the coming years. Interviews for program involvement on our end were advertised via newsletter a while back, and held early in the year. Still beats a flow, as far as control over the incoming new hires go.

Except it’s much more comprehensive than you think you know.

The problem with the EtD wasn't lack of interest, the standards were too high, so if you were qualified for the EtD, you could get a job at United, etc. IF Delta was successful in lobbying the .gov for a reduction of hours, so long as they remain in the Delta system only, then it will be a success.

My understanding is the young adult is interviewed sometime during college and basically given a Delta CJO. Finish college, instruct, fly at Endeavor, Class date at DL. No more interviews just straight to class - that’s one of the more prominent differences between ‘propel’ and the current Endeavor to DL program.

A former student of mine from ERAU was in a focus group with Delta about this program. She said candidates interview in college and get CJO contingent on flying for a DC airline and keeping a clean PRIA/ background record.
