Rigs should be priority in c2019

Most of the domestic trips I see we are flying all day... or worse all night on a red-eye and are only being compensated the 5:15 per day for the rotation using the 1 for 3.5 Trip Rig. There is usually one slow day that bleeds time down and prevents us from exceeding the ADG.

It would be nice to be compensated like a normal person of 8 hours per day for each day worked. Although, I don't see a 1 for 3 Trip Rig coming soon... but a 1 for 3:15 would be a great improvement especially when you consider that we are away from the house the entire time. If we could improve rigs that alone would increase overall comp as well as QOL.

Comments/Suggestions...

The sky is blue. Pilots want more money.

I think night overrides and holiday pay are great ideas. But that’s about where my complaints about how we’re paid stops.

Rabble on.

Great idea, belittle somebody who wants to improve the contract!

I like the idea of a daily guarantee vs an “average” daily guarantee.

You are right. The question is: How do we do/get it? Any suggestions?

Same.

I'd also like to see what would happen if DAL made a few SWA type trips that averaged 7+ hours/day without wasted airport sits and 30 hour layovers. Imagine working 12 days for 84 hours of pay.

gotta have both...otherwise the optimizer will change a lot of the pairings. Some can't be changed because of the way they are set up with last in still cant be first out but a lot can be changed unless you have both. Went through this at my previous carrier.

So raise the ave daily guarantee to 5:30, and have a 4 hr min day. Most of my maddog trips have one or 2 days less than the ADG so that would boost the trips a bit.

I’ll go for that but will you turn down one if you don’t have the other?
