Default Working on an X day

I'm new to reserve and have a question for the pros. What is the difference between putting in a green slip on an X day versus putting in a yellow slip to fly on your X day? I read through the contract and have a decent grasp on GS language for reserves but couldn't find anything about yellow slips on X days. I haven't yet flown this month so I wont be breaking guarantee which may make this a moot point.

YS on an X day goes towards your guarantee and does not come with a payback day. GS on an X day goes above guarantee and you get a payback day. Huge difference.

What he said. If you aren't going to break guarantee, it's almost worthless to yellow slip on days off. I say almost because there might be the rare circumstance that you'd want to do it. But that would be extremely rare.

I dunno... depends how long you've been cooped up with the kids and a honey-do list.

A chance to lay over in SEA and drink single malt with Denny Crane at Metropolitan Grill during happy hour certainly would justify flying over an X day. 😊

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.

Bear in mind that they won’t use you unless they are out of reserves, so your X-day YS could potentially be your X-day GS.

For trip assignment outside of 12 hours you are correct. But inside of 12 hours a reserve on X days goes before other reserves, right after recovery slips and white slips.

In that case, would it be a proffer or a mandatory assignment?
