This x1000. It’s one thing to not be able to say no to the drink. It’s another to make the decision to go fly whilst doing it. Very little pity on that end. I respect the guys with issues that acknowledge it and fight it. This is sad in so many levels.

I’ll judge all day thanks. I refuse to fly my passengers drunk. And when I get drunk I refuse to drive my family drunk. It’s not a hard decision.

No different than keeping a drunk off the road.
Hope he gets cured and hope he finds a job in a “Non Safety Sensitive” industry. After all, he’s got a minimum of a four year degree.

Sad story. Hope this guy gets the help
he needs and is able to return to flying.
This is another reminder to be proactive and get help if you think you have a drinking problem. Also to not let your fellow crew members show up to fly when they're intoxicated!
